1. Heating

• Heating is the most omnipresent treatment of gemstones which includes color-ness, lightness, darkness, brightness, preciseness and the entire clarity of the gem stone

• Tourmalines are irradiated for darkening the pink gem stones in red stones and these are impossible to make distinctive from natural red gems.

• Off-Colored-Diamonds are irradiated and heated in such a way that these diamonds are changed into most powerful colors like green, yellow, blue and brown.

• The irradiated off color diamonds are moreover less cheap in their buying rates because they have distinctiveness such as colors, fascinating shapes, designs, grades and sizes.

• Pearls are the most cultural gem stones which are frequently irradiated in generating the gray and blue colors, however dyeing in these colors are very wide spreading.

4. Dyeing

• Dyeing the gemstones is the most wide spread usage which shows commonness, adequacy and dominance.

• These colors don’t appear in their universal context while no trickery is drawn in but dyeing of distinctive minerals like jade, lapis lazuli, turquoise and coral might be less recognizable.

• Mainly, the dyeing of gemstones is done for camouflaging their poor quality goods.

• Last but not the least is the cheap rating of dyeing gemstone which is extremely vital and meaningful.

5. Bleaching

• Bleaching is a universal treatment of the gemstone, designed for the organic gems tones such as ivory, coral, pearls and cultured pearls. This method lightens the color and keeps the minerals fine, shine, stylish and undetectable.

6. Coating

• Coating is the most vivid treatment of gemstone used to polish and finishing the gemstone, as a result outlook sees like quite high-flying and pleasing to the eye. It is once in a blue moon used in diamonds to increase the prominence of the gemstone and its color. So, the buyer would be forced spontaneously to buy the gem-stone.

7. Surface diffusion

• This method is used in Sapphires. Chemicals are suffused into the exterior surface of gems at a severe heat.

• Surface diffusion is used in the sapphires. Chemicals are infused into the surface at high temperatures.

8. Filling

• Filling is processed into gem stones with exterior particles and hollow spaces. Glass, plastic and other materials are importantly used to clog up the holes. This is usual treatment with rubies.
