Keys to Superior Parenting: Part 2

By: Ian D Wright

A Superior parent starts being involved with their kid's lives. Our hectic lives are filled with business, career, and other work related things. Considering this, they could forget to share enough time with their children.

Organized parents give their children enough bonding time. A mum shares her experiences about her 2 kids. In the middle of her hectic schedule, she chose to to prepare breakfast for her children in the morning, and in the evening after her job, she chooses to have a talk with them about their school assignments.

There are examples when her children's do their work at the same time, and she can see the look in their faces to do it at the same time. In this manner, she is actively including herself in her children's lives.

Parents must include themselves in their child's hobbies. In this manner, they should show to the children that they are also interested in their hobbies. In classrooms, for example, administrators and teachers do have their family day activity each year.

They have different games and other hobbies where all the members of the family get involved and play a unit. You should also have some story telling activities (not just typical night time stories) especially on your days off when you have no work.

Attempt to free yourself of superfluous or unimportant activities that make your life much too busy with things in relation to your job. Remember that making your kids to perform other activities without you by their side does not help to develop their awareness and responsibility; instead, you are robbing them of the most valuable thing: your total time and attention.

Parents need to take the chances of cooking something for their kid to show them their love. For example, a parent can cook food for their kid for meals like breakfast, lunch or dinner. This may be a special time when a family get together and parents can initiate in telling a few events that occurred on that day.

There is no parent without fault, yet there might be wonderful times that we may share to our children. Therefore, get involved in your children's lives, do not wait for bad events to happen that have us lamenting: "It is too late; it's my fault".
