Cheaper options for Brazilian Tourists for airlines, food, and lodging would be in the Brazilian town of Natal, which is closer to Europe and North America. This added to its unspoilt beaches, average temperatures of 30 °C and the development of the world’s future fourth largest airport. Which is designed to bring in five million travellers per year, it’s no wonder that major airlines and travel companies are now offering direct flights and package holidays to the area.

-Natal is well-known for its palm trees along the coast and its blue-green waters that give off a cool breeze.
-Activities such as sand dune buggying and water activities are readily accessible.
-The government of Natal is in the process of constructing the fourth largest airport in the world. Because Natal is the closest of Brazil's regions to Europe, the number of tourist from Europe and North America has continued to increase.
-The bridge connecting Natal City and the beach resorts to the north completed in 2007, thus having the journey time to 25 minutes.
-Tourism and prices to the south are currently almost three times the price to the north!

The city of Natal, with an estimated population of almost one million, earns its nickname, The City of the Sun, from having an average temperature of 30C and sunshine 360 days a year.

Unspoilt Beaches

The breath-taking coastal route north of Natal City is one of Brazil's most spectacular natural attractions. Famous spots such as the Genipabu Dunes or the pristine white sand beaches of Cabo de Sao Roque, are an ideal location for swimming, on endless varieties of water sports, dune buggies, and horse rides along the beach.

At the Maracajau Reef one can do many fun watersports, such as windsurfing, kite surfing and also take classes in scuba diving.

Tourism Growth

The numbers of European tourists is increasing rapidy, mostly those from Sweden, Norway, Germany, Spain, Portugal and the UK. American Airlines is expected to be the first US airline next year to operate direct flights to Natal via Miami, five hour flight time, whilst British Airways will fly direct from London. Reasonably-priced flights and holidays to Natal are now available from Thomson, and other major tour operators. We are witnessing the beginning of a huge global tourism market. This has resulted in a rapid increase in the price of land, rental values and a demand for resorts.

When Brazil hosts the FIFA world cup for the second time in 2014 there will be an influx of tourists which will be far more than before. The decision to allow Brazil to host the world cup indicates F I F A is happy that local infrastructure is in place to welcome large visitors. Nineteen cities have shown concern in conducting the games and beneficiary looks to be possibly Natal which has a proposed development of a new 51,000 capacity arena to be built in the city.
