American Tinnitus Association Searching for a Cure

The largest tinnitus organization, The American Tinnitus Association, is working towards tinnitus research and the search for a cure. Scientists continue to search for new details about tinnitus causes and treatments. The American Tinnitus Assocation or the ATA is dedicated to supporting this research as well as making the discovery of a cure their top priority.
In hopes of quickly finding a cure; they not only find the best researchers available, they also provide the needed funding for the research. More than $4 million dollars in research grants have been given since 1980 by the American Tinnitus Association; of these $600,000 were awarded just in 2008. Eighty four different research studies have been preformed trying to correlate the cause and treatments of tinnitus.
In what ways has the ATA brought about positive change?
One way scientists working with the American Tinnitus Association have gone about finding the cure for tinnitus is to determine what new info they need. They've assembled what is known as a "roadmap."
To identify this "roadmap" they began by identifying all aspects of tinnitus and recording it. They will determine if any additional information will be needed that may help them find a cure.
Work and research are not optional in this extensive process. Research scientists are closer to finding a cure for tinnitus every time new information is discovered. The majority of the studies underway deal with people who suffer this disorder all the time.
